After more than 30 years of service, Molly Grove, the associate director for Community and Local Government Relations at George Mason University’s Science and Technology Campus, is retiring.

The Working Moms Support Group at George Mason University celebrated its 20th anniversary on February 23. The group supports Mason faculty and staff through all stages of their parenthood journeys.

For almost 10 years, Melissa Cannarozzi has worked in Mason’s Office of University Branding. She has spent half that time taking classes part-time and working on a master of arts in history.

As an extension of the Office of the Provost, the Faculty Writing Community is open to all who want support or guidance with their writing.

Barry K. Beyer, who came to George Mason University in 1980 to lead a new program that ultimately produced Mason’s first doctoral graduate, raising the academic profile of a young upstart university, died August 5, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported. He was 91.

Mason alum Leonard "Len" Bennett’s generous gift of $1 million will create the “Warren D. Decker Professorship Endowment” to support Mason's Debate Team.

On April 8, Mason Debate Team alums and university colleagues honored Professor Warren Decker for his 48 years of coaching and mentoring.

Robinson Professor James Trefil, who is the third Mason faculty member to reach the milestone of 50 years of service, taught at the University of Virginia for more than a decade before joining Mason’s then brand-new Robinson Professor Program in 1987.
